Vinyl Friday -
The Flying Nun Special
Friday November 25th
5.30pm Free Entry
Given that it's the 30th anniversary of New Zealand's best loved record label this month, it would be downright rude of the Vinyl Friday Illuminati to ignore it. Consequently, we've drafted label founder Roger Shepherd and former Garage editor Richard Langston in to construct an analogue tribute worthy of the occasion. There are also strong rumours that Simon Coley will make an appearance with his copy of "Fall In A Hole", hotly pursued we assume by a lynch mob of copyright lawyers. We're just hoping that one of them will play The Verlaines' "Pyromaniac". For the perfect way to memorialise one of our finest domestic cultural achievements, be there at Happy Bar, Friday 25 November. It kicks off at 5.30 so don't be late; some of us aren't as young as we used to be.
